Your responsibilities
Schedule and facilitate a smooth new hire onboarding process, educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures and regulations, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
Handle all administrative tasks for new hires including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance
Maintain physical and digital employee files and their related documents
Collaborate with outside providers (i.e., benefits administrators, search firms, vendors)
Investigate complaints and grievances brought forward by employees
Take appropriate disciplinary action when an employee violates Company rules and regulations
Produce and submit reports on general HR activity
Assist with the recruitment process conducting reference checks and ensuring relevant pre-employment background screens have been completed
Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs
Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole and to improve the employee experience and morale
Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required
Serve as HR advisor to employees in relation to absence and health issues, grievance matters, organizational changes and other employee-relations matters
Oversee payroll processing for the variety of payrolls on the relevant frequencies
Be responsible for tracking vacation/sick pay and hourly employee time and attendance
Assist in the communication, interpretation and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational charts
Your qualifications
Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations
Efficient HR administration and people management skills
Analytic skills a plus
Fantastic knowledge of HR functions and best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines
Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HR software
Strong organizational and conflict management skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related preferred or 2-3 years of experience as an HR coordinator or similar role
Two to three years’ experience in Human Resources Department preferred
SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus
Experience with ERP systems a plus
